Project Wörthersee

We were commissioned by the province of Carinthia to survey Lake Wörthersee. There were many different tasks, such as creating underwater models, depth models and lake profiles. In addition, we had to record the lake's fixtures and many people wondered where the fixtures were really located.

For this unusual task, a special echo sounder system was used: the SES-2000 light system from Innomar Technology GmbH. With this parametric system, the sonicated area on the ground is comparatively small.
The entire lake was scanned in zigzag profiles:

The total length of the profiles was 133 km.

It was also possible to read out some characteristics from the profiles that could be observed throughout the lake: hardly recognisable for the layman but important findings for the expert.
